Privacy policy.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains how Urban One collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use urbanone.com.au or get in touch with us. We have written it to meet Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Australia's Privacy Act 1988.
Who we are
Urban One is a digital marketing consultancy. We are a sole proprietorship registered in Singapore (UEN 53138024J).
We work remotely from Singapore and Melbourne, Australia, and we serve clients in Singapore, Australia and across Asia-Pacific.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Urban One. "You" means anyone who visits our website or contacts us.
What we collect
We only collect the personal information we need to reply to you and run our business.
When you send an enquiry, we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your company name
- your website address
- what you need help with
When you book a call, we collect the details you give through our booking tool, Google Calendar appointment scheduling. This usually includes your name, email address, the time you choose and any notes you add.
When you browse our website, our analytics and security tools collect technical information. This can include the pages you visit, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, your general location and your IP address. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health details or financial account numbers. Please do not include it in your enquiry.
How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you, when you fill in our enquiry form at /contact/ or book a call
- automatically, through the analytics and security tools on our website
- from you or your organisation during any work we do together
Why we use it
We use your personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange calls
- understand your needs and prepare a proposal or quote
- deliver services if you become a client, and manage our working relationship
- protect our forms from spam and abuse
- understand how people use our website so we can improve it
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We will tell you before we use your personal information for any other purpose. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to send you marketing unless you have asked us to.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses three third-party tools. You can browse most of the site without giving us any personal details.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. We load it directly with Google's gtag script.
When you visit a website that uses Google Analytics, your browser automatically sends Google certain information, including the address of the page you are visiting and your IP address. Google may also set or read cookies in your browser.
To learn how Google uses this information, see "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services": https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
If you do not want Google Analytics to be used in your browser, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Ahrefs Web Analytics
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to measure website traffic. Ahrefs states that this tool does not use cookies and does not store IP addresses with analytics data.
Cloudflare Turnstile
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our forms to check that a real person, not a bot, is sending the form. To do this, Turnstile processes technical signals such as your IP address, browser details (user agent) and a TLS fingerprint. Cloudflare says it cannot directly identify individuals from these signals. Cloudflare processes them on our behalf to protect our website, and also uses them to improve its bot detection. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum (https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/).
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the scripts our forms need, such as Cloudflare Turnstile, the forms may not work. In that case, please use the "Book a call" link instead.
We do not use advertising pixels or advertising tags on this website.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only when we need to. This includes:
- service providers who help us run our website and business, such as our website host (Site5) and Cloudflare (for website security and delivery), our booking tool (Google Calendar), Google (for Google Analytics), Cloudflare (for Turnstile spam protection) and Ahrefs (for Ahrefs Web Analytics)
- professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer, where needed
- government bodies or regulators, where the law requires it
We expect our service providers to protect your personal information and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
Overseas transfers
We work from Singapore and Australia. Your personal information may be accessed from either country.
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Singapore and Australia. Google, which also runs our booking tool, may process information in the United States and other countries. Ahrefs is based in Singapore. Our website is hosted by Site5 on servers in the United States and delivered through Cloudflare's global network.
For personal data covered by Singapore law, we only transfer it outside Singapore in line with the PDPA. This means we take steps to make sure the recipient protects it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
For personal information covered by Australian law, before we disclose it to someone overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure they do not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires.
We keep enquiry and booking details for 24 months from our last contact, then delete them. We keep client records for as long as we need them to deliver our services and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, copying, changes, loss or disposal. These steps include:
- using secure, password-protected accounts with two-factor sign-in where available
- limiting access to the people who need it
- choosing reputable service providers
- reviewing what we hold and deleting what we no longer need
No website or online service is completely secure. If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask how we have used or disclosed it
- ask us to correct personal information that is wrong or incomplete
- withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information, by giving us reasonable notice. We will explain what withdrawing consent may mean for you, for example that we may no longer be able to reply to an enquiry or provide a service
- make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information
To make a request or complaint, please contact us using the details in "Contact" below. We will reply as soon as we reasonably can, and within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you in writing when you can expect a reply.
If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the regulator:
- Singapore: Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), https://www.pdpc.gov.sg/complaints-and-reviews
- Australia: Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints
The OAIC usually asks that you complain to us first and give us a reasonable time to respond.
